A song is that deep expression of the heart.

A song is the "shepherd's staff" that the songwriter uses to guide people to the emotional places he or she wants them to go.

A song is what the listener was thinking all along, but didnt know how to say.  Most people have things in their heart they want to say, but cant figure out how to say it.
(How many times have you heard a song and said, I should have written that?)

A song is a capturing of life and living (and inspiration for both) in music and words. To do this most effectively, it should be done simply, one situation, one emotion at a time, because this is how life unfolds.

"A song is words or poetry with a melody.  Everything else is window dressing.  If you strip down much of what you hear on the radio today, it doesn't stand up.  There are plenty of average songs out there, wrapped in amazing production, sung by incredible singers."
